President Hakainde Hichilema says trade and investment between Zambia and Switzerland have grown to more than 20 billion United States dollars over the years.

President Hichilema  called for the relationship to be strengthened into a comprehensive economic partnership that supports the Grow Zambia Agenda and delivers mutual benefits.

He said this when Swiss State Secretary Helene Budliger Artieda paid a courtesy call on him at State House in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Ms Artieda said Switzerland is interested in increasing investment in Zambia, particularly in critical minerals and climate-related initiatives.

She said Swiss companies could contribute expertise, innovation and technology to Zambia’s productive sectors, creating jobs and supporting local economic development.

Ms Artieda also proposed establishing a government-to-government platform to facilitate increased Swiss investment in Zambia.
