Zambians disheartened by death of Kafwaya

Social Media is awash with flamed posts and comments of disheartened Zambians following the confirmation of the death of former Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya at the hands of the Police.

Inspector General of Police Graphel Musamba said in a statement late evening that the Central Joint Operations Committee (CJOC) “was welcomed with gunfire” at “a residence in Kabulonga” when conducting an operation following “intelligence Concerning activities by individuals of national interest suspected to pose a threat to National Security”

According to Mr. Musamba, this resulted I the task force returning fire and fatally wounding “one unidentified male person” in the process.

He explains that “the unidentified person was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention where he was pronounced dead on arrival”.

Mr. Musamba added that “following Social Media Reports about a missing person, efforts were made to ascertain whether the description of the body matched that of Mr Mutotwe Kafwaya” and family members were called last evening and positively identified the deceased.
