The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General Dingani Banda has assured taxpayers across the country that ZRA will not undertake enforcement action arising from unreconciled historical data during the reconciliation period currently going on.

The enforcement measures which will not be implemented include the charging of penalties, suspension of Tax Clearance Certificates (TCCs) and debt recovery in respect of the affected legacy data.

Mr. Banda made the assurance during an engagement meeting with representatives of major business associations in the country yesterday.

He said the successful implementation of the data migration process requires collaboration between the Authority and taxpayers to promote voluntary compliance.

Mr. Banda reaffirmed that the ongoing migration of historical tax data to TaxOnline is intended to enhance transparency, improve tax administration and empower taxpayers to reconcile their tax accounts using a single platform that provides access to both historical and current tax records.
