Zambia has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Africa’s health systems as it hosts the Continental Validation Workshop on the Monitoring, Reporting and Accountability Framework of the African Union Roadmap to 2030 and Beyond.
Speaking during the official opening in Lusaka, Permanent Secretary for Donor Coordination in the Ministry of Health, George Sinyangwe, said Zambia was honoured to host the continental gathering and appreciated the confidence placed in the country by the African Union and its member states.
Dr. Sinyangwe said the African Union Roadmap to 2030 and Beyond provides an important framework for sustaining the response to HIV and AIDS, strengthening health systems and advancing health security across Africa.
He noted that the roadmap is aligned with Agenda 2063, the African Union Strategic Plan 2024–2028 and the African Health Strategy 2016–2030.
Mayfair Insurance Company has donated wheelchairs and cleaning materials to Matero Level One Hospital and the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
