Mayfair Insurance Company has donated wheelchairs and cleaning materials to Matero Level One Hospital and the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
The donation is aimed at supporting the two health facilities in improving patient care, mobility and hygiene.
The wheelchairs will assist patients who require mobility support to move around the health facilities, while the cleaning materials will supplement efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, health workers and visitors.
Mayfair Insurance Company says the donation forms part of its contribution towards supporting public health institutions and complementing government efforts to improve healthcare service delivery.
The company says supporting healthcare facilities is important in ensuring that patients access services in an environment that is accessible, safe and conducive to recovery.
Meanwhile, the Matero Level One Hospital administration says the facility has, since its inception, been serving a large number of people in Lusaka, making such support important to its operations.
And the University Teaching Hospital says the donation will provide practical assistance to the institution as it continues to provide healthcare services to the public.
