Lusaka City Council, in collaboration with the Road Development Agency, has started road marking works along Kafue Road aimed at improving road safety and traffic management.
The exercise involves reinstating and improving lane lines and other pavement markings along the busy road to clearly define traffic lanes and guide motorists.
LCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba says the improved markings are expected to promote lane discipline and enhance traffic flow by providing motorists with clearer direction while driving.
Ms Mwamba says the road markings will also improve visibility, particularly at night and during adverse weather conditions when visibility is often reduced.
She says the collaboration between LCC and RDA forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure and improve safety for motorists and other road users across Lusaka.
The works commenced today and are expected to contribute to safer and more orderly traffic movement along Kafue Road.
