The Community Action Against Corruption (CAAC) has called on law enforcement agencies to ensure the Cyber Crimes Act and laws relating to seditious practices are enforced fairly and consistently, amid growing public concern over what it describes as selective application of the law.
Organization Chief Executive Officer Brighton Tembo says the organisation is urging the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), the Zambia Cyber Security Agency, and the Zambia Police Service’s Anti-Cyber Crime Unit to address concerns about inconsistencies in enforcing cyber crime and sedition-related offences.
Mr. Tembo says the rule of law requires justice to be administered fairly impartially and without political, social, or personal bias.
