The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced a change to the schedule for the arrival of ballot papers for the 2026 General Election.
Commission Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga says the first consignment, which was initially expected today, Sunday, 26th July 2026, will now arrive tomorrow morning, Monday, 27th July, through Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
Ms. Luhanga says the change follows a revision to the charter flight schedule by the air operator due to an operational adjustment to its flight programme.
She explains that the first flight will carry ballot paper consignments that were originally scheduled to arrive on both Sunday and Monday. The remaining consignments are expected to arrive daily as planned until Friday, 31st July 2026.
Meanwhile, the ballot paper verification exercise involving key stakeholders has also been rescheduled.
The exercise will now begin on Tuesday, 28th July at 10:00 hours at the ECZ Silverest Warehouse.
The Commission says all other arrangements remain unchanged, with registered political parties and other stakeholders expected to witness the receipt and verification of the ballot papers in line with established procedures aimed at ensuring transparency.
