The Board of Directors of ZCCM Investments Holdings (ZCCM-IH) has reviewed the operational and financial performance of CNMC Luanshya Copper Mines, including progress on key development projects.

The review was conducted during the Board’s Copperbelt investment tour on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, as part of its ongoing oversight of the company’s investment portfolio.

ZCCM-IH Board Chairperson Phesto Musonda said the Board engaged CNMC Luanshya management on the mine’s 2025 financial year and first-half 2026 performance, covering operations, finances, exploration, human resources, health and safety, as well as key challenges.

The Board also inspected major projects, including Shaft 28, where dewatering has been completed and underground clearing and construction works are underway.

The inspection further covered the new Shaft 28 mine site, Mashiba Ramp construction, Muliashi Open Pit backfilling, vent shafts and winders.

Mr. Musonda said increased investment and production in the mining sector must translate into tangible economic opportunities for Zambians through opportunities for local businesses, skills development, job creation and stronger communities.

Meanwhile, ZCCM-IH Chief Executive Officer Kakenenwa Muyangwa said the company will continue working closely with CNMC Luanshya management to ensure key projects are delivered efficiently and contribute to sustainable returns.

Mr. Muyangwa said strengthening local supply chains and developing a skilled Zambian workforce are central to building resilient and competitive mining operations.

The Board has since agreed on follow-up actions on key operational and strategic matters, with progress to be monitored through further engagements with investee companies.
