Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) founder Sean Tembo has announced his retirement from active politics with immediate effect.
In a statement, Mr. Tembo said he made the decision after careful consideration and extensive consultations with his family and friends.
Mr. Tembo noted that the announcement coincides with the 10th anniversary of the founding of PeP, which he established exactly ten years ago.
He said although he did not succeed in being elected to public office during the past decade, he remains proud of the political contributions he has made.
Mr. Tembo cited the annual PeP Alternative National Budgets and extensive jurisprudence arising from political cases before the High Court and Constitutional Court of Zambia as some of his notable contributions.
Mayfair Insurance Company has donated wheelchairs and cleaning materials to Matero Level One Hospital and the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
