Human Rights Champion Calls For Economic Stability To Benefit Communities

Human Rights Champion and Democracy Specialist Ngande Mwanajiti says Zambia should now focus on ensuring that the country’s economic stability delivers tangible benefits to communities following the successful debt restructuring process.
Mr. Mwanajiti says the debt restructuring, secured after the 2021 general elections through an International Monetary Fund-supported process, marked an important step towards restoring the country’s economic stability.
He says Zambia’s debt had become unsustainable by 2021, with local and international financial experts calling for urgent economic reforms and stronger governance.
